Blessings Counted: Miss Piggy

The starlet author of The Diva Code on fistfights, fulfillment, and her fly-loving amour

1) ME, MYSELF, AND MOI My personal secret for self-fulfillment is simple: Love yourself. Even if you don’t have the je ne, the sais, or the quoi that moi has, learn to make the most of what you do have. It’s amazing what good lighting, a fabulous wardrobe, and a few dishy Internet rumors can do for your self-esteem. And once you’ve learned to love yourself, convincing others becomes a whole lot easier.

2) TWO OF A KIND The love that Kermit [the Frog] and moi have for each other hasn’t come easy. We’ve had to work at our relationship. But that’s what enduring love is all about: caring about each other, loving each other, and on those days when he’s a real pain, enduring each other. I wouldn’t have it any other way. And neither can he.

3) CHOP TALK Every woman needs to know how to assert herself. I trained as a young girl with the sensei at Master Wong’s Charm School and Karate Dojo. Of course, it’s always better to articulate your wants, needs, and desires in words. But I’ve discovered that there are times when the only truly convincing argument is a solid shot to the ribs.

4) DOWNTIME I love movies, especially ones about strong women like Gone With the Wind, Titanic, and The Terminator. I adore music that creates a mood, anything by Mozart, Beethoven, or Barry White usually does the trick. And as you might imagine, I am a voracious reader. I go through four or five books a week. I sometimes even read them.
