SpykeeErector’s new robot assistant won’t clean your house like The Jetsons’ Rosey, but it can make your life easier and even protect your stuff. The Spykee WiFi, out this month, takes your orders through the Internet. That means you can control its digital video camera, music player, microphone, and loudspeaker from half a world away. Even better, the Spykee comes equipped with a motion detector; if an intruder enters while you’re gone, the bot will sound an alarm on your computer and take a snapshot. Three more Spykee models—the Vox, Miss, and Cell—will join the family over the next several months, with built-in services that run from Jeeves to Jack Bauer. You can order the Vox to rush at random objects, get personal advice from the Miss, and use your Bluetooth to control the Cell. The WiFi costs just $300, making it much more affordable than a life-sized robot maid.
